"Jesus said, 'Let the children come to me, and do not prevent them; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these'."
Matthew 19:14
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a manner of forming children utilizing the Montessori method of education. It does go through age 12, however, at this time, St. Paul's only uses it for our three through five year olds. Catechesis of the Good Shepherd takes the most profound truths of our Liturgy and Scripture, pairs them with materials that make the truths real and hands on, and gives them to the children to develop and grow. The rooms the children learn from are called atriums and have specially prepared materials with which to work. Children gain both the head knowledge to help them understand and participate more fully in Liturgy, as well as give language to begin to express faith in God.
